Saturday’s Devotional: Balance 🙏🏼💗

Nature Park in 2018

I was in my hometown visiting my baby’s father. While we were dating and almost engaged to get married. He took me to the nature park. And we were walking and walking through by observing the beautiful nature.

He offered me to walk on the lying tree bark and keep walking straight as to keep me from falling down.

This called balance. Walking straight requires a mindfulness skill: you need to look straight, not look down. With taking a breather, you keep walking straight to keep you from falling down. So you focus on this new skill, and when your concentration blocks you from keeping your talent, you experience depression of not getting the rewards and you feel like you want to give up. Keep practicing this skill until you make the rewards.

In many ways, our spiritual lives we reflect on learning the balance: move unsteadily from side to side through much of life leaning back on our own understandings because we believe in the illusion of control that is not from God. And so we quickly fall down!

Proverbs 3:5-6 is the key verse for our Christian faith: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

We feel free to lean on the Lord. We were never meant to do our own understandings. We learn that from Genesis that God created us to lean on Him. After Eve choose to listen to the serpent that tricked her to understand on her own. Its reminds us we need to keep clinging on the Lord.

I clung to my baby’s father’s hand as he whispered, “Trust me. I got you. Don’t let go. Keep walking straight.” Little did I know that God would continue to use him through the tumultuous years to come, his hand holding mine as supposedly to be a husband and wife, and a shared parenting to our son, would be a beautiful picture of God’s own pursuing and protective love but in the wrong time. We keep faith in God that one day we will bring back together for the sake of our child.

Anyways, hear God’s words spoken to you today: Trust me. I got you. Don’t let go. Keep walking straight.

Yes, Lord, I trust YOU. Amen.🙏🏼💗

Friday’s Devotional: The Light of Jesus 🙏🏼💖🌻

🌻Sunflower is a beautiful and joyful flower.🌻 And it is in my heart. As a child, I used to see the sunflowers in front of my old house before I embarked for school. Last year before ahead to go to someplace else. Come fall, those same sunflowers would provide seeds for snacking and oil for cooking.

Did you know that the sunflowers continuously readjust their position every 15-60 seconds? That’s slow enough to be impossible to notice it, but fast enough to keep up with the movement of the sun across the sky.

In the Bible, we are never called sunflowers. The Scripture often refers to Jesus as our Light. Let consider Jesus introduces us about who he is in John 1:4-5.

When Jesus entered the world, He brought Light to all who would turn to Him, but He didn’t force anyone against their will. Anyone can decide which they choose for their life, Light or Darkness. But we Christians can be inspired by this beautiful role of Jesus as the Light of the World…and the light that shines in our hearts based on 2 Corinthians 4:6.

As we spend time with Jesus, His light will continue to shine in our hearts and also draws us into closer relationship with Him.

Thursday’s Devotional: Light Load to Carry 🙌🏼🙏🏼💖

Are you overwhelmed? I do.

I try to make up the ideas, to-dos, and thoughts on how to calm my chaos. But wow! That’s a lot! Right? If I find more time, I can write down the list of what I’m going to do for a day. Even my former coworker depended on me after I completed my task. I could handle how to finish helping her at the end of my work schedule time.

How do I cope with people who pressure threatening to overwhelm me? I looked up Psalm 127:1-2. Solomon advice me ‘to labor in vain’. I keep working and earning money as self-love. ‘To stand and watch in vain’. I keep watching the news and have faith in Christ that He is coming soon. ‘To rise early and stay up late in vain’. When I slept late, I rose up early for work because I knew that it was a part of life. Right now as a full-time stay at home mom, I continue to pray and ask God for a mother and her child needs: home, food, clothes and other necessities.

God’s gift to our lives is beautiful. Our eyes, our fingers, our mental capacity… all are gifts. As our success comes only by the grace of God.

You notice that scripture, builders and guards only succeed if the Lord is already at work. We don’t need to work independently but we need to join God in what He’s doing. As we depend on Him. That’s wonderfully light load to carry.

Wednesday’s Devotional: God Is Our Beautiful Creator 💚🌿🙏🏼

When I stepped outside, I saw the amazing thing is the sky. It was breathtaking! The colors were really beautiful!

I took my baby to see outside. He is curious until he will learn how to ask me about everything in the creations of God. And I’m going to teach him about God’s wondrous ways.

The Bible tells us that all of creation points to its Creator:

The heavens speak about God’s glory. The skies tell about the good things his hands have made. Each new day tells more of the story. And each night reveals more and more about God’s power.~Psalms 19:1-2

We can learn more about our Creator if only we would pause long enough to recognize His beautiful creation. Romans 1:19-20 says:

“What may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

This does not mean we toss out our Bibles because we can know everything we need about God simply by studying scientific stuff. On the contrary, David goes on in Psalm chapter 19 to exalt the virtues of God’s self-revelation in Old Testament law, because it refreshes the soul, makes wise the simple, and is “sweeter than honey.”

But we can learn much about God’s creativity in the world around us. And that’s magnificent! I’m going to step outside into nature with my son today to listen to the rush of wind as it lifts our hands up to praise the Lord Jesus.

And join all creation in singing: All creatures of our God and King, O praise Him, Alleluia! 👏🏼🙌🏼😇

Monday’s Devotional: Ask God Much More 🙏🏼💗

Do you have something else you need to pray for?

Does God really care about your health?

Does He care that your rent or mortgage bills are overdue?

Does He care that your heart long for a real friend?

The Bible answers these questions. Yes, God does care. In fact, Jesus compares our Heavenly Father’s heart with the heart of a parent who delights in his child’s request for a loaf of bread. That dad would not give his son a stone, right? Even the parents are feeding their hungry children.

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!~Matthew 7:11

How much more? It’s a self-important question. Because the answer, of course, is SO MUCH MORE. More than we can imagine. On my worst days, I still take care of my son all by myself. Imagine how much more our perfect heavenly Father loves to hear and meet our needs. He delights in giving us what is good. This good Father wants to hear from you. Whatever is on your heart, ask Him. Keep asking and He will tirelessly take care of your every need.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.~Matthew 7:7

Sunday’s Devotional: Seeking Him 🙏🏼💙🤍

Have you ever felt someone touching you and you looking back, no one there? And asking God if that was Him?

I experienced the voices in my ears and for today devotional whisper, “Seek Him.”

Has that ever happened to you? We will not miss the special moment if we keep kneeling in prayer and express our situations to the Lord.

We don’t have to stay hidden in fear because of “God’s perfect love takes away fear” (1 John 4:18). In Jesus, we can receive forgiveness, mercy, and grace. We choose to turn and seek Him. Because of seeking the Lord is the best time right now.

David clearly explains the truth in Psalm 27:8: You have said, “Seek my face.”

My heart says to you,

    “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”

This time seeking God’s face means to set aside the phone for deeper Bible study, kneeling in your private room for a time of quiet prayer.

We listen to His Spirit calls out to us, “Seek my face.” In fact, we pause right now to breathe those words:”Your face, Lord, do I seek.”

Lord, when I felt someone touching me and I looked back wondering who’s that. Lord, is that you? I want to seek your face you come closer to me. Thus I want to see you and hug you. In Jesus’s name. Amen.

Friday’s Devotional: Peace 🙏🏼🤍🕊

When its comes to the haste, its making me feel worried. And I can hardly make it to breakfast but to work.

In the morning, what worries you are on your mind? It’s easy to feel weighed down by our worries, but Jesus is entirely different. He offers us a peaceful life, inviting us to rest in Him just like what Mark 4:38-40 saying.

But how do we embrace that peace? Practically speaking of when we hear the bad news like school shooting, hurricanes, laid off jobs, etc. etc. how do we live at peace? Isaiah 26:3 says:

“You will keep in perfect peace

    those whose minds are steadfast,

    because they trust in you.”

Notice that perfect peace comes only from God; He is the One who beautifully offers us the wholeness, quiet, and tranquility that settle our souls. But only when we lean on God, we focus on Him and that is peace of our minds.

We know the famous verse that tell us not to be worried about anything. It is from Philippians 4:6-7 that Paul explains:

“Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have. And because you belong to Christ Jesus, God’s peace will stand guard over all your thoughts and feelings. His peace can do this far better than our human minds.”

When we are tempted to fret, we can bring our situations before God, with our prayer requests and our gratitudes. In exchange, God promises us that He will guard our hearts and minds with His peace, a peace that is greater than human understanding.

As needed throughout the day, pray to the Lord about what worries you. As you present your situation, leave it at His feet and invite His peace to guard your heart and mind.

Thursday’s Devotional: God Is Not Far From You 🙏🏼💙

Have you ever wondering, “Where is the Lord?”

The Israelites did. They voiced their despair in Psalms 137:1-4.

The Israelites were leaving the country because they disobeyed God. Their homes were destroyed, their families were killed, their freedoms stolen, and their hopes dashed. Did God still care?

Despite their situations, God did not forget His people. God spoke to them in Jeremiah 29:10, 12-14a.

What a generous promise! God assured them that when they turned to seek Him with all their hearts, they would find Him. Because God is near to those who seek Him.

This Old Testament story reveals how God longs to be in close relationship with His children. He sent Jesus to walk among us and to welcome us into the family of God. And He has placed His own Spirit within us, that we may call out “Abba, Father” in our moments of need.

Whatever you are feeling today, please know that God is not far from you. Even if you don’t feel close to God, continue seeking Him. Keep reading the Bible because we all need Scriptures to remind us what the truth is.

Recognize your emotions and express them to the Lord in prayer. He hears you. And He cares for you.

Wednesday’s Devotional: Enjoy God 🙌🏼💛

What’s your purpose in life?

My purpose in life is trying to find happiness. But I know the Bible, God is only one savior in His servants’ life. When I was little, I always wanted to receive gifts. But interesting verse tell me that giving people always make me happy than receiving the gifts.

I read the answer from the Westminster Shorter Catechism saying, “Man’s chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him for ever.”

The Bible is full of teaching us how to glorify God. For those of us who’ve grown up in the church. Enjoy God? I do! What does that look like? Beautiful spiritual art.

In Psalm 16:11, we find David saying this of God:

“You make known to me the path of life;

    in your presence there is fullness of joy;

    at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

Did you see that verse? Our path of life, our joy, and our eternal pleasures are all found in the presence of God Himself. And in Christ alone.

As when we are satisfied in Him, God is most glorified in us. His glory is intimately connected to our joy, which we find only in Jesus Christ based on John 15:11.

We already have Jesus in our life. And because our joy is in Him, we can enjoy God and glorify Him forever. Amen! 🙏🏼🙌🏼💛

Sunday’s Devotional: A Healing For Your Soul 🙏🏼🤍

Have you ever felt desperate? I did. And still I do, but I keep in my prayers. I felt desperate in my life. About my relationship and my health situation, no one is believing me… long story. If I haven’t been a member of the wrong church, then I would be restored in my relationship and save my health from the devil women’s shelter and wrong children’s hospital. But I accept the fact that I made mistakes.

In this passage of today devotional I read Mark 7:32-35. It is the story of a man who experienced God’s miracle work. A deaf man’s ears are turning to hearing the sounds. How? Jesus put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then he spit and touched the man’s tongue. He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, “Be opened!” And the deaf man now can hear and start to talk! This is an incredible experience! Jesus is a Healer! I am thanking Him for my baby and I were miraculously survived in the wrong children’s hospital! Praise the Lord! Amen!
